ALL STARZ
Sport for All.
Sport for Life.
All Starz is the national adaptive field hockey league — a place to play, compete, belong, and grow. For every age, every ability. No finish line.
A League That
Doesn't Stop
All Starz is USA Field Hockey's national league for adaptive hockey — open to athletes of all ages, from young children through adults. No testing. No gatekeeping. If you want to play, you belong here.
We welcome athletes across the full range of intellectual, developmental, physical, and other adaptive needs. Divisions are organized by skill and pace of play — not by diagnosis. The focus is always on what athletes can do.
All Starz is real sport: real competition, real coaching, real community. We believe every athlete — at age 6 or 46 — deserves a team, a coach, and a chance to grow. Services and athletic opportunity for people with disabilities are scarce in the United States. All Starz exists to fill that gap, at every age.
Built Around
Three Fundamentals
Sport works when three things are in place. All Starz is built to deliver all of them — consistently, at every level, in every community we serve.
Club-based teams give athletes a home — a consistent environment, familiar teammates, and a schedule to show up for. We meet athletes where they are.
Community and belonging are not extras — they are the point. All Starz is structured around the social fabric that sport provides: identity, friendship, and shared purpose.
Athletes have coaches. Divisions are organized by skill and pace of play. Progress is real and recognized. This is sport with standards — because our athletes deserve them.
How
All Starz Works
-
Ages 4 and up Open to all ages with divisions calibrated to development stage — using the USA Field Hockey age and stage development model.
-
Skill-based divisions Grouped by speed of play, game intensity, and competitive or social preference — not diagnosis. Focus on what athletes can do.
-
Club-based play Teams affiliate with existing clubs or establish their own. The club structure creates stability, culture, and a pathway for athlete development over time.
-
Supported & coached Programs involve coaching, peer athletes, and appropriate support staff. The goal is maximum independence for each athlete based on their individual needs.
The national competitive tier — including the USA Para Hockey National Team — draws from the All Starz community. Athletes qualify, compete, and return.
Currently Eastern US —
Expanding Nationally
All Starz began in the Eastern US and is actively growing. New programs in development will more than double the number of teams across the country — bringing All Starz to new regions and new communities.
Life Doesn't
Stop at 21
For young people with intellectual and developmental differences, structured athletic and social opportunity often disappears at the school exit. Youth programs, transition programs, and support services thin out dramatically in adulthood.
"Life is just beginning at 21 — and removing the chance to grow is terrible."
All Starz is deliberately built for the adult athlete — the 16-to-50 range where independent decision-making emerges, social needs are highest, and the options are fewest. Our athletes are adults. They compete, improve, lose, win, and grow. That is the point.
